Scottish Highlands

Posted on on okt 26, 2015

Glencoe is often considered one of the most spectacular and beautiful places in Scotland. Mountains, river valleys, waterfalls, wetlands, lakes, there are so many photographic opportunities from which you can choose. No wonder it is on of the destinations of a Nordic Vision Photo Tour led by fine art photographer Wilco Dragt.  I was happy to participate this time, inspired by the photos of former participants on the website of Nordic Vision.

The entrance to Glen Coe is marked by the mountain called Buachaille Etive Mor. It one of the most recognisable mountains in Scotland, and one of the most depicted on postcards and calendars. We also visited Rannoch Moor and Glen Etive, an area featuring in the film Skyfall.  On a few evenings Wilco organized a photo discussion to discuss a selection of each others images among ourselves. Much appreciated, as you can learn a lot on such evenings.

We stayed in the famous Kingshouse Hotel, an original 17th century inn in the Scottish Highlands. Also well-known as a stop for those who walk the West Highland Way, Scotland’s famous hiking trail. Certainly a walk I consider in the near future!
