Reunion in Belgium, a photo-weekend
A fantastic photo-weekend with nearly all participants of the 2013 Nordic Vision Lofoten-group! After all the enthusiastic stories about autumn in Belgium, we decided to visit the so-called Hoge Venen (High Fens, Ardennes). First stop: the small stream called Hoëgne. A favorite place of Wilma van Doorn and Pieter Buma.
The Hoëgne originates on the plateau in the heart of the natural park High Fens close to Baraque Michel.
Day two was a foggy day. We went to the “Parc naturel Hautes Fagnes Eifel” (Hohes Venn / High Fens) which were declared a nature reserve in 1957. It is a plateau region in the province of Liège, in the east of Belgium and adjoining parts of Germany, between the Ardennes and the Eifel highlands. The High Fens is the largest nature reserve in Belgium. Here is an interesting spot with many dead trees, attracting the attention of many photographers.
