Giant’s Causeway & Dark Hedges
The coastal region of Country Antrim in Northern Ireland is an ‘Area of outstanding natural beauty’ for a reason. And in all honesty, it fully covers the charge! Beautiful beaches, peat-speaking moors, forests, green hills, churches with old cemeteries and small harbours. This is also where the “Game of Thrones” series was filmed.
Also well-known is the Giant’s Causeway, a rock formation on the north-east coast near Bushmills, consisting of some 40,000 basalt columns. The formation has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1986. The rocks are thought to have formed during a volcanic eruption some 60 million years ago. The site is Northern Ireland’s most visited tourist attraction.
Thanks to Charles Borsboom for putting together this great photo trip for Nordic Vision.
