Estonia in autumn
Estonia is the northernmost of the Baltic countries and is located in the north-eastern part of Europe. With an area of approx. 45,000 km², Estonia is about the same size as the Netherlands. The neighbouring countries Russia and Latvia as well as the Baltic Sea border the state. Estonia is the smallest of the three Baltic states and it forms a unique piece of Europe. Not only because of its history, but mainly because three quarters of Estonia is covered in forests and peat bogs, and therefore it still offers a lot of untouched nature.
Kristel Schneider, who set up and guided this photo trip for Nordic Vison, took us to many, very different places. From the coast (Hiiumaa island) through beautiful moors and forests to Lake Peipsi, which forms the border with Russia.
