About
Munich, Germany
I am a Dutch amateur photographer, living in southern Germany, with a focus on landscape and travel photography.
For me the beauty of photography is that you take in the world around you much more consciously. I am always amazed that, even when you are in the same place, everyone’s eye catches a different motif. There is a lot to see, if you take your time.
This has fuelled my enthusiasm for landscape photography in particular in recent years. For beautiful light and a rugged landscape, I like to go out.

Early on, I had a camera pressed into my hands at home: an Agfa folding camera with a black-and-white film in it. During holidays, my father gave me my first lessons in photography; about technique and composition.
Soon I bought myself a small camera for travelling. Slides soon took the place of photos on paper and so I now have a nice collection of slowly fading slides, which I need to sort out.
When the trips went a bit further away, I bought an SLR camera with telephoto objectives, a Nikon F100, and a few years later made the switch to digital photography.
With some regularity, I have been going on photo trips in recent years. Very instructive and I owe my photo results mainly to the accompanying photographers from Nordic Vision, among others, and learning from other participants. Their tips and encouragement are a source of inspiration.
